A very good friend of mine has spent much time off the coast of Florida. He and his fishing buddies go spear fishing in the area. His stories sparked creativity in me as we laughed over a plate of fish tacos. The way he spoke of the salty air, the rush of the ocean, and the thick atmosphere of the Florida Keys. Something I’ve not yet encountered are the white sandy beaches of Florida. Creating from that place of imagination and wonder, this painting has come to life through the eyes of my friends tales of adventure. I hope to feel the thick humid air and rush of the Atlantic Ocean the way he has told it some day.
